The Opportunities in 2011

There's nothing like getting the cows in to get excited about the year ahead. The calves are looking good and just about ready to wean. With such a mixture of conditions across the country we must think about the tremendous opportunities that lay ahead of us this year rather than focus on the day to day, (and the "it's too hard")…See More

let's get net smart, loud and proud...

I've just spent the last 2 days in a web and social media marketing course for credit unions.

Apart from picking up some amazing knowledge on the power of the internet and Google (which we all know is the future) what struck me personally is that Murray Greys are like credit unions and Angus is the big banks

.

Those that have Murray Greys/or members of Credit unions are really happy with their experiences, many with the big banks are a bit dissatisfied but they don't hear a lot…

Hi Kate,
Our sale went very well, much stronger than expected.
The bulls were very good and there was no tail, lot 100 made $7250!
Top price bull was a Monterey Impeccable son lot 21 selling for $12000 to the Stickland Bros Mungatta Stud.Second top price was $10,500 twice, for Tullibardine's Gotcha son who sold to Ayr Park NSW and another Impeccable son Lot 71 who sold to Breelong for a 3/4 share. Lot 8 made $10,000 selling to Glen Bold MG Stud SA and Lot 10 sold to Yamba MG Stud for $9000. We offered 65 bulls and sold 64 to average $5040 & $4375 respectively. We offered 18 cowsand calves for a total clearance selling to $9000 and averaging $5375. All in all it was a top result for the breed and was heartening that breeders showed confidence despite the difficult market conditions for prime cattle in WA.
Hope all the family is well
Regards,
Gary
